Along the beach, rope barriers had been set up to keep the crowd back from edge of the beach and allow the men carrying the omikoshi enough room to safely carry and maneuver them along the beach and in the waves. But it was hard to see from far away and taking pictures was hopeless. You could feel the crowd grumbling. All at once, suddenly, a surge of people broke through the ropes and pushed past the cops and crowded the edge of the beach. I felt kinda bad for the cops. They tried their best, blowing whistles and screaming at the top of their lungs. "??????????????????!" (Abunai desu kara, minna sagatte kudasai! It's really dangerous so step back!) Nobody listened.
