The main event of the hadaka festival is when the men carry these heavy omikoshi (small shrines) into the sea. Each neighborhood of the town has its own team. So there are about 20 teams. Each team wears a different color headband. They march down the beach with a lot of shouting and cheering and walk into the waves.
