A photo of Go-gome (station 5) where we started our ascent. Their are five routes to the top of Fuji. The route we took up was the Fujinomiya route. It begins at 2400m. Fuji is 3776m high, so essentially we're only ascending the last little bit of Fuji. Most people start from this route. The most difficult route up is the Gotemba route. It begins at 1500m. We took this route down, climbing up it is only for the skilled or the insane. See later photos.
