After we reached station 8, we hiked laterally to the Gotemba route where one station was located to provide beds and food for climbers. We stayed here overnight, rose early the next morning, and finished our climb. Here is the modest eating area of the hut.
This is the Akai Iwa Yama Goya, which I guess means Red Volcanic Stone Mountain Hut. Sort of like Pizza Hut, but without the toppings that made their deep-dish Chicago style the talk of the town. -Jonathan
